Rising Star: Tayah Louise Morato Joins TFC’s Elite Athlete Program

At just 15 years old, Tayah Morato is already making her mark across both rugby league and rugby union, with a playing career that speaks to her talent, commitment, and love for the game.

Growing up with a footy in hand, Tayah’s passion has carried her from the grassroots with Wanders Junior Rugby Union to representing across multiple regional and state teams. Her resume is already impressive:

  • North Queensland Rugby Union – 2023, 2024

  • Queensland Country Rugby Union – 2024

  • FNQ Rugby Union 7s – 2023, 2024

  • FNQ Rugby Union 15s – 2025

  • Peninsula Rugby League – 2024

  • All Nations United Rugby Union – 2024, 2025

In 2024, Tayah joined The Female Co through the First Nations Program, and in 2025 she was selected for the Elite Athletes Program, a reflection of her relentless work ethic and growing potential.

Her mum, Renee Kettles, is her biggest supporter and beams with pride at how far Tayah has come:

“Tayah’s dedication and love for the game has never wavered, from a little girl with a footy to where she is now. She’s earned every bit of this, and I couldn’t be prouder.”

For Tayah, the dream is clear: she is determined to become an elite athlete, and The Female Co is proud to walk alongside her on that journey.

Tayah’s story is one of consistency, resilience, and belief, qualities that make her not only a rising star in sport but also an inspiration for young women across the North.

She kneels on one knee, holding a green resistance band with both hands, smiling with focus. Gym equipment and weights are visible in the background, along with an outdoor view of palm trees and buildings.
